The Altec Network of Teacher Resources
4Teachers.org works to help you integrate technology into your classroom by
offering FREE online tools and resources. This site helps teachers locate
and create ready-to-use Web lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom
calendars. There are also tools for student use. Discover valuable
professional development resources addressing issues such as equity, ELL,
technology planning, and at-risk or special-needs students.
www4kids.org is a print publication syndicated in about 130 newspapers in the USA, Canada and Japan with an accompanying web site that promotes individual exploration and youth activities.
Interactive Video Team
The Interactive Video Team (IVT) assists PDS faculty and students in using video conferencing technology in the education. IVT team specializes in the implementation of video communications in education.
Technology Rich Classrooms (TRC)
Our purpose is to provide evidence that technology integrated into the learning environment and supported by strong professional development can produce positive change in the classroom and student learning.
Learning Associates Network (LAN)
The Learning Associates Network is designed to promote teachers who are leading the way with effective integration techniques for technology and project-based learning.
LAN offers teachers a venue to conduct professional development workshops for others and provides a vital network and support structure for teachers who share similar work and teaching strategies.
Scientists and engineers at the University of Kansas are applying their expertise to develop and utilize innovative radar and robotic rovers to measure ice thickness and determine bedrock conditions below the ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica. They are doing this through the auspices of a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NASA. This grant has been named PRISM (Polar Radar for Ice Sheet Measurements).
The MATRIX Project provides resources to improve middle school reading and mathematics achievement of students using games and PDAs, iPods and video cameras, along with Quantum Simulations' online Artificial Intelligence Assessors and Tutors, and AutoSkills' Reading and Mathematics Academy.
Intel: A Regional Training Agency
The ALTEC Regional Training Agency coordinates events for the Intel® Teach to the Future Program. Intel® Teach to the Future is a suite of free proven, professional development offerings providing teachers, leaders, and pre-service faculty with the skills they need to integrate technology to enhance student learning. This program is available nationwide with all curriculum materials and instruction provided free of charge to participating Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and teachers.
